Exploring Ainu Culture
For centuries, the forests of Lake Akan have been an important place for the native Ainu population. Believing that the Earth is filed with dieties(“kamuy” in the local language), local Ainu treat the surrounding nature with the utmost respect. During this forest walk you will have the chance to engage with nature like a local with an Ainu guide showing you around the forest and lake.
